Polaris Lighting delivered the lighting solutions for SFA Retail Varna, a large multibrand sales and service complex located at 66 Hemus Motorway near Varna. Officially opened on 9 October 2024, the development has a gross floor area of 3,126 square metres. At the time of its opening, it brought Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Alfa Romeo, Jeep and FIAT together under one roof, each with its own corporate identity.

The Polaris Lighting project covers the six automotive showrooms, the dedicated light-commercial-vehicle area and the test-drive zone. The principal objective was to achieve efficient and visually comfortable illumination that creates a sense of space, presents the vehicles convincingly and responds to the individual branding requirements of every represented marque.
Lighting that presents automotive design
In an automotive showroom, lighting directly influences the way visitors perceive the shape, colour and details of each vehicle. Track systems with adjustable spotlights allow the illumination to be focused on the displayed models and repositioned whenever the exhibition layout changes. Individual vehicles can therefore stand out clearly without compromising the visual order of the surrounding space.

The individual areas are developed around the identity of each automotive brand. Light works together with corporate colours, logos, feature walls and brand-specific furnishings. In the darker interiors, focused accents create a dramatic contrast, while the brighter showrooms use balanced general illumination to preserve their open and spacious character.

A combination of general, linear and accent lighting
The lighting concept does not rely on a single type of luminaire. Linear systems and large illuminated ceiling fields provide an even foundation, while spotlights introduce the necessary emphasis on the vehicles, branded walls and customer areas. This combination reduces harsh transitions between illuminated surfaces and creates a consistent visual environment across the different showrooms.

Additional linear profiles highlight stairs, furniture and architectural details, while decorative pendant luminaires introduce a softer atmosphere within the consultation and customer-service zones. Illuminated display cabinets and graphic elements improve orientation and present accessories and corporate messages as part of the complete visitor experience.
A functional solution for the service areas
The complex includes not only retail showrooms but also spacious service and technical facilities. Lighting in these areas follows a different principle: clear and even illumination is required across the workspaces, vehicles and equipment. Linear luminaires are arranged to maintain good visibility throughout the large rooms and support the requirements of everyday automotive service operations.

The SFA Retail Varna project demonstrates how lighting can unite numerous spaces and corporate identities within a single complex. By combining energy efficiency, visual comfort and precise lighting accents, Polaris Lighting creates a contemporary environment that presents the vehicles effectively and contributes to a high-quality customer experience.
