Polaris Lighting delivered the lighting for Hotel Mimosa in the Golden Sands resort. The hotel complex was completely renovated in 2024 and now welcomes guests under the name SH Dolce Mare. It is located approximately 250 metres from the beach and 150 metres from the centre of the resort. The property offers more than 300 renovated rooms and apartments, restaurants, bars, an indoor swimming pool and outdoor relaxation areas.
The principal objective of the lighting concept was to establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere suitable for different times of the day. Balanced illumination highlights the spacious common areas, decorative greenery and marine-inspired interior design. Functional light is combined with large decorative compositions that make illumination an active part of the guest experience. Integrated energy-efficient solutions further support the contemporary character of the renovated hotel complex.
Lighting in the main restaurant follows the open and dynamic organisation of the space. Large illuminated rings are suspended at different heights, creating a sense of movement above the tables and buffet islands. Black track systems with directional spotlights provide additional functional light and emphasise individual areas. Timber ceiling baffles and hanging greenery complete the composition, introducing warmth and a connection with natural forms.
A sculptural composition formed by a freely curving illuminated line extends above the bar. Its shape suggests the movement of a wave and turns the luminaire into a recognisable decorative feature. The line follows the full length of the counter, clearly defining the zone while creating a more informal atmosphere. Additional illumination across the front of the bar reveals the relief of the panels and makes the service area both visible and inviting.
In one of the common areas, a large decorative aquarium and green wall establish a natural visual centre. Elongated linear luminaires are positioned above them, distributing light consistently across the entire composition. The contrast between the warm reflections inside the aquarium, the rich greenery and the clean illuminated lines creates a calm atmosphere while allowing the decorative features to remain clearly visible.
Lighting in the indoor pool area supports the marine character of the interior. Linear elements follow the undulating structure of the ceiling, while blue and turquoise tones reinforce the impression of water and movement. The illumination defines the route around the pool, reveals the large wall graphic and creates a relaxing environment without making the space appear excessively dark or enclosed.
Lighting in the guest rooms is softer and focused on comfort. Circular wall luminaires beside the beds provide convenient local light while also acting as decorative elements. Their warm glow highlights the artistic wall graphics and softens the contrast with the upholstered headboards. The result is a calm atmosphere suited to relaxation after an active day beside the sea.
The Hotel Mimosa project demonstrates how lighting can connect restaurants, bars, relaxation zones, a swimming pool and guest rooms within one coherent visual concept. The solutions delivered by Polaris Lighting combine functional visibility, energy efficiency and a strong decorative presence. The result is a contemporary resort interior in which light contributes to the feeling of summer, comfort and a complete seaside holiday experience.
